UAL International Postgraduate Scholarships
Scholarship Name UAL International Postgraduate Scholarships
Academic Year 2020
Scholarship amount £5,000
Nationality Any
Scholarship Deadline 16 October 2020

Up to 165 UAL International Postgraduate scholarships are available. A scholarship provides a £5,000 tuition fee waiver for a full-time taught master’s course at one of UAL’s 6 Colleges starting in the academic year of 2020/21.

Criteria 1: You must currently hold an offer to study a full-time taught master’s course at one of UAL’s 6 Colleges starting in the academic year of 2020/21. Your course must offer either an M ARCH, MA, MFA, MRes or MSc qualification.

The following courses do not qualify: Postgraduate Certificate (PgCert), Graduate Diploma, Postgraduate Diploma, Integrated Masters (or any similar course that qualifies for undergraduate support from UK student finance agencies), EMBA, MBA, distance learning, blended learning and online courses.

In addition, you are not eligible to apply if you already hold a UK postgraduate taught qualification (or one at an equivalent level) from studies undertaken in the UK or abroad.

Criteria 2: You need to qualify for the Overseas category of tuition fee status. Read more about Postgraduate Tuition Fees.

Criteria 3: You have achieved (or are predicted to achieve) an upper second class honours degree (or a recognised equivalent. Please refer to NARIC if you would like to check the recognition of your degree in the UK) or above at undergraduate level.

You will be asked to provide evidence of your qualification and grade by supplying a transcript.

If you are yet to receive your results but are predicted to achieve an upper second class honours degree or above you will be asked to provide evidence of your predicted results. Please note that whilst you can apply for a UAL International Postgraduate Scholarship based on predicted results, if your scholarship application is successful, you will only be granted the award if you achieve the required result and can evidence this by supplying a transcript which shows the grade you have achieved.

Criteria 4: Providing a personal statement which responds to the following questions as part of your UAL International Postgraduate Scholarship application (maximum 350 words per question):

  • Describe your background and your academic experience.
  • Describe how receiving a Postgraduate Scholarship would make a difference to you.
  • Tell us how you intend to use the qualification you will be gaining to support your future plans.
  • Confirm any other sources of funding you have (or have applied for) to meet the cost of your studies in the UK.

Criteria 5: You are able to support your application with a satisfactory personal reference from an academic or professional referee. Your reference must be provided in English.

Once you've received an offer on a qualifying course, the ‘my funding’ page on your UAL Applicant portal will be updated to display application forms for scholarships you may be eligible for.

Your completed UAL International Postgraduate Scholarship application form and supporting evidence must be submitted by 1pm on Friday 19 June 2020 (for courses starting in September or October) or on Friday 16 October 2020 (courses starting in January).

As you will need to be holding an offer on an eligible course in order to apply for the scholarship, it is recommended that you make a course application as soon as possible in order to receive an offer with enough time to apply for the scholarship.

If you decide to complete a scholarship application form, we will contact you by email after this scholarship application deadline has passed to let you know if your application has been successful.
