Overview

Overview

The University of Central Lancashire (or UCLan) is a university based in Preston, Lancashire, England, UK.The university is the fifth largest in the UK in terms of student numbers and is ranked as the best modern university in the north west of England.

UCLan offers more than 500 undergraduate courses and 200 postgraduate courses. They offer a vibrant and diverse home to 35,000 students, including over 100 nationalities. In addition to the main city centre campus, they have facilities in Burnley, Westlakes in Cumbria and Llangollen Outdoor Centre in North Wales. The University has three campuses the largerst of which is in Preston, one of the UK’s newest cities, situated in the heart of the Northwest. It’s close to the City centre, so it’s only a short walk to the bus and rail stations, and handy for a night out.

The campus is clean, green and compact. More than £120 million has recently been invested on buildings for teaching, learning and leisure, including the iconic Media Factory for media and performing arts students, and new facilities for dentistry, pharmacy and engineering. If you’re interested in sport, there’s a multi-million pound sports arena about a mile from campus, which offers some of the best facilities in the Northwest and we’re busy building a new indoor sport and fitness centre.

Burnley Campus and Westlakes Campus both bring the full University experience with emerging research communities and the benefits of being part of a large University.
